A foundation ready to grow exponentially

Earlier in 2021, Stillfront Group, a Swedish publicly listed game company acquired 100% shares of Moonfrog Labs and its subsidiary Bangladesh based - Ulka Games Limited. An acquisition like this is a testament to the growing number of talent working in the gaming and 3D graphics industry in Bangladesh. A number of western studios have set up technical teams in the country to support and scale up their operations.

Studios in Bangladesh are serving customers directly from Europe, Japan and North America. There is a steady pipeline of talent coming out from universities like Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Daffodil University, Dhaka University Animation Lab etc. The government is also putting a lot of emphasis on this sector by providing funds to private companies to train up resources in the areas of 3D animation, visualization and game development.

All of this is helping to develop an ecosystem for the 3D graphics industry in Bangladesh. Although the industry here is in a relatively early stage compared to India or China, the foundation has been laid to grow exponentially.

Bangladeshi tech entrepreneur Rudmeela Nawsheen is founder and CEO of ConfigVR and ConfigRbot based in Silicon Valley, California.

"I did my undergrad in Electrical Engineering so that I could understand the technical world, and my masters in Software Engineering concentrating on Digital Communications and Multimedia, which gave me the knowledge to build and develop software. I graduated summa cum laude during my masters and started my market research then."

After two years, I wanted my own identity so launched ConfigVR, my first company in Silicon Valley with my own savings. After establishing ConfigVR for three years I recently launched my second company ConfigRbot with four robots, two Internet of things (IoT) devices and three software solutions. Now I am looking for grants to promote, market, and build this company as I have big plans with it.
